Product Description

geyserpackThe geyser pack consists of a foil faced Glasswool insulation blanket in a kit form that includes 5 x 1m, high density Glasswool snap on pipe insulation of 15mm ID bore x 20mm wall thickness & duct tape. Additional pipe insulation available on request.

Fire Properties

Geyser blanket:

    • Non-combustible – tested to SANS 10177 Part 5
    • Class 1 fire index rating – tested to SANS 10177 Part 3
    • Class A1, S1, do according to EN 13823
    • Tested to ASTM E-84

– Smoke Development Index: 5

All non-combustible products are acceptable in any application – no deemed to satisfy tests are necessary (SANS 10400)

Offers exceptional acoustic properties & enhances indoor environmental quality by absorption of noise. Insulation Refractory’s insulation reduces the sound transmission to and from a room or building. A dry wall system correctly insulated will offer the same or better acoustical properties than a conventional brick & mortar option.

Tools Needed For Installation

A sharp blade may be needed for cutting.

Installation Instructions

  1. Wrap the entire geyser – ensure the foil is facing the outside.
  2. Secure the blanket with the binding tape supplied and cut off excess.
  3. Close the ends and tape down
  4. Install pipe insulation around pipes to and from the geyser {mitre cut pipe sections around bends}.

Handling & Storage

Store product undercover, and in dry conditions. Store flat. Handle with care, especially on the edges and corners, which can be damaged if subject to sharp or heavy impact. Do not apply excessive pressure, for example by standing or sitting on the product, as permanent damage may be caused.


Install 50mm thick, non-combustible, lightweight Glasswool “Geyser Blanket” around geyser or hot water cylinder. Seal edges with duct tape. Apply 2m of 20mm thick “Snap-on Pipe” insulation on the incoming cold water pipes and insulate all outgoing hot water pipes.
